Prairie Artisan Ales Seasick Crocodile: Review by @Robyn_Seto

Prairie Artisan Ales Seasick Crocodile: Review by @Robyn_Seto

Prairie Artisan Ales is one of my favorite breweries at the moment. This Oklahoma based brewery has many seasonal and limited-release beers that blow my mind. I haven’t really been able to showcase them because most of the beers I have from them are high ABV stouts that I’m aging in the fridge. However, during this time of year Prairie produces a lovely seasonal sour ale called Seasick Crocodile that’s brewed with cranberries, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

This is a very holiday inspired beer. Upon pour the aroma is delightfully ginger-y and sweet, and the cinnamon and nutmeg come through to create a festive olfactory experience. The ingredients blend into a cohesive taste that reminds me of a freshly baked spice cake or gingerbread.

There’s a lot of flavor packed into this little 6.3% ABV ale. It is quite tart still, but the overarching flavor is sweet with the cranberry bringing out a lot of natural fruit juiciness and a refreshing finish. It’s fairly thin and bubbly, and the color is a pleasant pinkish orange. The effervescence and enchanting color makes this a great beer to celebrate the holiday season with.

4/5 Burps

**Bonus tip: Prairie also makes a seasonal imperial stout called Christmas BOMB!, which I have not been able to find this year (yet). I highly recommend this one as well, especially if you love dark chocolate roasty flavors and delightful holiday spices. But beware! It’s a hot 13% ABV.
