Full Circle Brewings Pie of the Tiger: Review by @Robyn_Seto

Pie of the Tiger: Apricot Pie Sour is from Full Circle Brewing Co.’s Hip Hop Puree series. This fruited sour beer is brewed with apricots, cinnamon, and lactose sugar. This combination of ingredients is meant to mimic the flavor of a slice of homemade apricot pie.

The lactose in this beer gives that signature creamy mouthfeel that pairs well with the cinnamon notes to create a taste similar to pie crust. The fruitiness is bright and tart, and once again the cinnamon blends with the apricot giving hint of sweetness akin to jam. The flavors of this beer almost seem to layer or build and become more prominent after letting your palette rest between sips.

Despite the fact that this beer is heavy on flavor, the beer itself is not very at all. 6% ABV is on the higher end for a sour beer, but with all that apricot pie goodness you might as well drink your dessert. And if you’re not wild about apricot, Full Circle Brewing Co. also offers Pie of the Tiger in cranberry and mixed berry.
