Devils Canyon Beer Friday - Review by: @Robyn_Seto

I was gifted a four pack of a delightful little Pilsner called Beer Friday by Devil’s Canyon Brewing Co. My brother knows I’m a craft beer enthusiast, and the four pack was part of his Christmas gift to me last month. He picked it up from the brewery in San Carlos, CA near his home in the Bay Area. I found this to be a fitting time to break out a review for such a thoughtful present from my dear older brother.

Beer Friday is a pilsner, which is a type of pale lager. It has the classic yellow Pilsner color and malty aroma. It’s a little on the heavier-bodied side for a pilsner, but still fairly light overall. The flavor is sweet, vaguely floral, and finishes with a bright but slight citrus hoppiness. The flavor is present but not so overpowering that it can’t be enjoyed with food. I had mine with tritip and garlic noodles, which was a nice pairing. The ABV of pilsners is typically on the lower end, and Beer Friday sits at a healthy 5% ABV.

I enjoyed this variation on a style I already like quite a bit. You will probably find that most pilsners have a basic shared quality and it’s these minor variations that makes trying different brewers within the same style so interesting. I highly suggest branching out and always trying new breweries!
