Top Surprises 2018: Superfly (2018)

Superfly is that rare gem of a surprise where as noted below in the review, I was not excited by this movie and almost treated it like a job the day I went to see it. This was one of those movies I saw that didnt have a early Thursday night screening. I caught a matinee of this with 20 some off people. I think we all had a great time and remember the delight I exclaimed when during the end of a great car chase when a Confederate statue is knocked over and then causes the car to explode.

Unfortunately, maybe this character and movie only translates in the US as I tried to convince a friend from Germany how much fun this movie was and he was not impressed the next day. Sorry Haroldo.
