By the time we got to my 40th Birthday, I decided I had had enough of Moviepasses unstable shenanigans and it was time to cancel my membership. AMC Theaters had already rolled out their new subscription plan “A-List” the month prior and people were only loving it or not a subscriber, yet.

Spike Lee’s Blackkklansman would be our first experience with the AMC A List and it would be inside the Dolby Theater.

Im disappointed only in two things. That 1) I didnt see this again. And 2) Upon explaining to a friend from Germany that this was not an adaptation of the famous Dave Chappelle sketch, he refused to believe an organized group of people could be that stupid and could not process the idea of this mistaken identity as a true story.

Im not a man of politics, but I do believe this is one of the most important and relevant movies that could be made and distributed in the summer of 2018. The final three minutes of the movie still stick with me and to think that it had only been less than a year after those specific events happened, it breaks your heart. I will add a third Disappointment to the list if this doesnt get nominated and take home a few Academy Awards. If you dont take home something from this movie, you might be part of the problem.
